29% Grants Still Available under Community Insulation Scheme

Grants of 29% are still available for homes seeking insulation, stoves and boilers their homes under funding secured by Energy Communities Tipperary Cooperative. The goal of these community-run schemes is to saveECTC Logo 1 energy and create work in the area.

Since securing an offer of funding from SEAI for INSULATION and ENERGY EFFICIENCY work, community volunteers have been hard at work. Project manager Marcella Maher Keogh has been in contact with householders, and our approved contractors have been surveying the work to be done.

While the Fuel Allowance places have been filled, there are still 29% grants available for householders looking to do the following measures under SEAI’s BETTER ENERGY COMMUNITY INSULATION SCHEME. (NOTE: this is the only grant available for stoves and windows. Two upgrade items are required to avail of this 29% Grant. It is open to all homes in Tipperary and neighbouring areas. Works to be complete by October 30th 2015).

The energy efficiency measures include:
Attic Insulation/Cavity wall insulation
External wall insulation
Condensing Oil / Gas boilers
Room Heater Stoves
Heating control upgrades & Climotes
Windows & door replacement
Chimney Draught Limiters

A number of examples are given below of approximate costs, and grant back to the householders. These upgrades are based on a whole house solution and not just one room in your house being upgraded. Should you require more information please contact the project manager –  Marcella Maher Keogh on 086 1080356 or email energycommunitiestipp@gmail.com
